GSA Video & Photo Media Overview

To help highlight our players, coaches, and community, we regularly share team action shots, event highlights, and club news across our website and social media channels. We welcome submissions from parents, coaches, and team photographers!

To ensure safety, quality, and a positive representation of our players, please review our photo and video submission guidelines below.

Why Your Media Matters

We love seeing our club through your lens! Promoting our players, teams, and community wouldn’t be possible without the incredible photos and videos shared by our members, coaches, and staff. Even if your submission isn’t posted right away, every photo and video helps inspire content ideas, keep our community updated on ongoing games and events, or build our media archive for future club highlights and website pages.

How to Submit Your Media

To preserve original image quality and avoid file size limits, please share your photos and videos via an iCloud Link or a Google Photos shared album link and email to highlights@georgetownsoccer.org.

  • Please share the team (e.g. “u12BW”)
  • The coach (e.g. “Coach Jon”)
  • And a brief one sentence description (e.g. “Winning goal team celebration photo” or “Team photo from this weekend’s Dallas Cup Tournament”).

Why Shared Links? Standard email attachments and text messages automatically compress photos, reducing crisp game-day shots to low-resolution images. Using cloud link shares ensures we receive full-resolution, high-definition photos that look great on website banners and social feeds.

How to Create an iCloud Link (iPhone/iPad)

  1. Open the Photos app and select the photos or videos you want to share.

  2. Tap the Share button (the square icon with an arrow pointing up) in the bottom left corner.

  3. Scroll down and tap Copy iCloud Link.

How to Create a Google Photos Link (Android)

  1. Open the Google Photos app and tap and hold to select your photos or videos.

  2. Tap the Share button (the icon with three connected dots) at the top or bottom of the screen.

  3. Tap Create link (or Copy link).

The link is now saved to your clipboard—simply paste it into an email or message to send!

Photo & Video Guidelines

What We Are Looking For

  • High-Resolution & Clear Focus: Crisp, bright photos taken in good light (landscape orientation preferred for website banners, portrait for social stories).
  • Action & Emotion: Players actively in play, celebrating goals, high-fiving, sportsmanship, and authentic team moments.
  • Proper Club Attire: Players wearing current, official club jerseys or authorized training gear.
  • Positive Energy: Smiling faces, engaged coaches, encouraging fans, and sideline camaraderie.
  • Group & Team Celebrations: Mid-field huddles, post-game bench celebrations, and team award photos.

What We Are Not Looking For

  • Blurry, Dark, or Low-Quality Images: Out-of-focus, overly pixelated, or heavily zoomed-in smartphone shots that lose detail.
  • Non-Approved Gear or Opposing Team Focus: Photos with full logos of non-affiliated clubs, photos with clear opposing players, or where unofficial uniform modifications are visible.

Player Privacy & Safety Rules

  • No Full Names Tagged: For player safety, website and social media captions will only use first names, jersey numbers, or team names (e.g., “U12 Boys Blue working hard this morning!”).

  • Background Awareness: Avoid submitting photos that clearly capture non-essential personal information, clearly visible spectators, or unrelated information in the background.

  • Removal Requests: If a parent or guardian requests the removal of a photo featuring their child, the club will remove the post or image in the most timely manner possible – without question.
